MUN (Model United Nations)
Model United Nations is an academic simulation of the United Nations in which students play the role of delegates from different countries and attempt to solve real-world issues with the policies and perspectives of their assigned country. For example, a student may be assigned to the United Kingdom and will have to solve global issues such as nuclear non-proliferation or climate change from the policies and perspectives of the United Kingdom.
In IAA, students participating in the International Studies class or the extracurricular MUN activity will have the opportunity to plan and participate in MUN trips throughout Ecuador and Latin America.

At IAA, MUN and International Studies are student-led groups and classes. Students choose and help plan the MUN conferences the group attends and a locally organized MUN.
Our school has a long trajectory of international involvement with our M/S and H/S. students from 1994 to the present. One of the foundations is having trained and fully committed staff.
Ms. Lila Baldeón, the lead coordinator, has been leading the project for more than 10 consecutive years.
The second coordinator, Mr. Allan Gutierrez, has two years of experience. Together, they do a great job training and guiding the students to be the best delegates they can be.
