Test Prep

When considering students for admission, universities analize different aspects from candidates . This includes their grade point average (GPA), the rigour of the curriculum, teachers letters of recommendation, extracurricular activities, interviews, personal essay, and their standardized test scores. Test scores play an important role in admission decisions as well as to grant merit scholarships.

The purpose of standardized admission tests, such as the SAT* or the ACT*, is to measure students' college readiness. This way the universities have a common base to compare all candidates. Many universities also utilize test scores to award scholarships.

In general, a better score increases the opportunities for admission. It is recommended to take the test for the first time towards the end of 11th grade. The tests can be taken several times.

CIE offers test preparation classes for SAT, TOEFL, IELTS, and GRE. Group and individual classes are offered to meet students needs.

*Interamerican Academy is a test center for SAT y ACT.
