Welcome to IAA School Year 2021-22!

 

IAA’s Parent-Teacher Organization (PTO) would like to welcome all families to an exciting 2021-2022 school year.  For those who may not be familiar with this organization, the PTO is comprised of parent volunteers who dedicate their time in building a school community that works together to reinforce the school’s goals and traditions.  It is headed by a PTO Board whose role is to represent the parents in communicating their views and interests to the school administration and its board of directors, in order to preserve harmony within the school community and create understanding between parents and teachers.   

 

We encourage you to reach out and help those who are still new to our community, as we were all new at one time.  Should you have any other questions, please do not hesitate to get in touch with the PTO through the school.

As the IAA PARENT-TEACHER ORGANIZATION (PTO), our number one mission is to make our school a great place for our kids to thrive and learn.  We understand the diverse needs of the students, parents, and teachers in our international community.  We are here to support our school community in order to maximize the potential of all of our children and enhance their educational experience.
 
The PTO organizes fundraisers and events that raise money that goes directly to benefit the kids and the school community at IAA.  
 
In the past years, the PTO has funded the following:
Musical instruments, outdoor stage, outside lighting, playground equipment, construction projects in the cafeteria and multipurpose rooms, Teacher Appreciation Day and not to mention all of the seasonal festivities throughout the year like Halloween, Winter Festival, Café Concierto, and International Day.  
  • Support teachers and classroom activities through the Room Parent Program.

  • Create opportunities for parents to meet and students to get acquainted.

  • Offer a line of communication from school administrators to parents to further enhance cooperation.

  • Raise funds through school wide programs and events to support the need for additional classroom materials, field trips, holiday events, playground and sports equipment needs, building construction and charity work.

 

As a parent of a child at IAA you are automatically a member of the PTO.  All parents are welcomed and encouraged to participate in meetings and events. Throughout the year we will meet once a month to discuss and plan activities to achieve our mission. There are plenty of volunteer opportunities in many capacities in and outside of school hours.  We are open and receptive to new ideas and appreciate feedback and support.

 

As the PTO, our number one mission is to make our school a great place for our kids to thrive and learn.
