Spanish as a foreign language
More than 400 million people around the world speak Spanish. It is one of the most spoken languages worldwide. At IAA we aim for our students to become global citizens and lifelong learners so our SFL program prepares them to learn to listen, speak clearly and effectively, and express themselves by writing and reading different types of informational and literary texts in Spanish. They will also learn to understand and appreciate the culture of different
Spanish speaking countries.
Curriculum Overview and Goals
Our SFL students will learn Spanish following a based ACTFL (American Council for Teaching Foreign Language) standards program which focusses on five basic components: communication, cultures, comparisons, connections, and communities.
