Board Purpose

The Board of Directors for the InterAmerican Academy of Guayaquil is a group of eight parents elected by the parent community to provide the strategic direction and oversight necessary for the optimal functioning of the school.

The mission of the board of directors is to govern with an emphasis on:

• Outward vision rather than internal preoccupation
• Encouragement of diversity in viewpoints
• Strategic leadership more than administrative detail
• Clear distinction of board and chief executive roles
• Collective rather than individual decisions
• Future looking rather than focusing on past or present
• Proactivity rather than reactivity
